From the beginning our process involved carefully considering the way that systems worked in order to create an improve system.

We started out as a group of 5-6 talking about how to create biofuels in a sustainable system. Our process began rockily but from that emerged two groups: one pursuing sustainable fashion and another pursuing an improved biofuel system. Brainstorming and ideas emerging from brainstorming was a key part of our process. It was difficult to balance social dynamics, unique backgrounds, differing goals and unique personalities in the brainstorming process. Our original mindmaps of the problem were scattered, rocky and disorganized.

Eventually, we were able to take our disorganized mindmap and organize it into a revised version (which you can see below). The revised mindmap was the stepping point to focus us on our subject and bring us to the specific area we wanted to work on: systems involving the conversion of algae to biofuels.
